Zadar is located in the north of Dalmation, in the southern area of Pag island. This former Roman city has since been conquered and colonised by other civilisations, which have all contributed to the city's rich cultural heritage. Zaton is a small village on the Adriatic coast, and is 15km north of Zadar itself. Diklo is one of the closest resorts to Zadar, and is located just 5km from the city.
